The craic was absolutely mighty in Scott's Gardens in Killarney on Monday afternoon as crowds enjoyed a tasty barbecue treat - all in aid of a good cause.

The main beneficiary of the day was the Ian O'Connell Trust Fund which was set up in the aftermath of 16-year-old Ian's cycling accident in August last year which left him paralysed from the shoulders down.

The fund is being used to help cover the cost for Ian's ongoing needs and the cost of any necessary adaptations to the home.

And they could not have asked for better weather as locals sizzled in the sun while enjoying the delicious food and great music on offer from Glenflesk's own talented musician Derry Healy throughout the day.

The Trust Fund has received another boost this week after it was chosen as one of the charities that will benefit from the upcoming Irish Post Awards in the INEC this Thursday night, June and it will also benefit from this year's Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle.
