The conference of St. Vincent de Paul Ballylongford/ Asdee would like to thank all those who helped to raise much needed funding for the laundry service for the elderly in Ballylongford in 2012.
In particular we would like to thank Noel and Shirley Heaphy Centra supermarket for providing us with a very large amount of washing powder. To Bernie Doran, Tim Kennelly and friends who raised a large sum of money participating in the North Kerry Cycle last August. To Patsy and Phil o Connell who raised funds with their outdoor christmas display.Thanks also to Ballylongford I.C.A , Tarbert comprehensive school and the H.S.E without all of this support it would have been very difficult to maintain this much needed service. Once again thanks so much to all concerned.
The Sandpipers next outing is at Newcastlewest on Saturday June 8th.
Asdee Rovers end of season get together will take place on Sat 25th May starting at 1.30pm with a light training session for most age groups apart from the under 12s who will be having a challenge match. Asdee will welcome Firhouse Carmel (Dublin) players, staff and family that have made the long journey south to Kerry after the match there will be refreshments in the club house
Also a delegation from Airtricity Premier Champions Sligo Rovers will be paying a visit with the winners cup so that should be a very exciting occasion.
Asdee Rovers Summer Camp
This Years Camp will take place on Monday 22nd July til Fri 26th (inclusive) starting at 10am and finishing at 3pm with a wide range of activities taking place.All players are welcome between the ages of 5 and 14 and we hope to see as many budding ronaldo's and messi's as in the last two years.Registration will take place at the club house in asdee between 12 & 2pm on Sat 25th May a deposit of €35 (50%) will secure a place with places limited best to book early.

NORTH KERRY POST PRIMARY BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
The First year basketball team competed in the 'North Kerry Post Primary Basketball Tournament' in the Community Centre in Ballybunion on Friday last, May 3rd. Cora O'Mahony, Emma Kennelly and Sarah Long second year were acting as table officials. The team first overcame the Causeway Comprehensive team. Next up were other close neighbours Tarbert Comprehensive, whom they also defeated. Finally they faced Presentation Listowel and were thrilled to come out winners against this team. They were thrilled to win the coveted shield and Mr.Daly their coach was proud of the girls. Members of the victorious team were; Maeve Scanlon, Saoirse O'Carroll, Shanice Daly, Teegan Meehan, Erica Mulcaire, Hannah Walsh, Rachel Mulvihill, Zoe Prendergast, Tara O'Shea, Allanah Whealan, Christina Tydings and Renee Cooke. Congrats to the victorious team and Mr. Daly.

SLIABH A' MHADRA GATHERING WEEKEND:
As part of the Gathering Ireland 2013 Sliabh a' Mhadra N.S is running some events over the June Bank Holiday weekend. The school is 170 years old and The Cashen N.S amalgamated with Sliabh a' Mhadra 40 years ago in 1973.
On Saturday June 1st a Golf Classic in association with McHale's Stretford End Bar, Causeway will take place at Ballyheigue Castle Golf Club commencing at 7.00am. The format will be teams of four of any combination with two scores to count at each hole. There will also be a Longest Drive & Nearest the Pin on the day. CORPUS CHRISTI Eucharistic Procession on Sunday 2nd June.
The Feast of Corpus Christi the procession takes place after 11.30 a.m. mass in St. Brendan's Church, Clogher.
This mass will be the final mass in this year's Do This in Memory programme.
The procession will go from the church to Clogher Cemetery. As in previous years this year's first communicants will form the guard of honour for the Blessed Sacrament. Everyone is welcome to walk in the procession, hope it will be a prayerful experience once again. The altar servers in the parish are invited to take part.
The next evening of Devotions in honour of St. Pio of Pietrelcina will take place Thursday 30th May in St. Brendan's Church, Clogher at 7.15 p.m.
Fianna Fáil Cumainn
There will be an AGM for all Ballymacelligott, Ballyseedy and Kielduff Cumainn on this Thursday in Ballygarry House Hotel at 7pm. Topic for discussion will be 'Crime in Our Communities - How to Respond' given by Fionnán Fitzgerald, Secretary Ballymacelligott Community Alert Group. This will be followed at 8.30pm by an AGM for all three Cumainn. New members are always welcome.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION
Congratulations to the 14 School children, their teachers, parents and grandparents of both St Oliver's Ballylongford and Lenamore National Schools who received the sacrament of First Holy Communion at St Michael's Church on Saturday morning last. Congratulations and sincere thanks is extended to the Parents Council of the school who provided an array of refreshments etc immediately after the Holy Communion for everybody involved, indeed there was an amount of work put into this and well done to all concerned on such a wonderful occasion.
