A special thank you

"Just a quick update regarding the recent Special Olympic Collection day held last Friday. I would like to all the people who showed up and took time out of their day to stand (or sit as the case may be) to collect money for this very deserving cause.

Many thanks go to all the people of Castleisland Parish who supported the collection on the day. As the money is still coming in there is no final count as yet. So watch this space ... .Breda O'Donoghue, Special Olympic Volunteer."

You will have gathered that you just read a note from Breda O'Donoghue and if you can count yourself among the praised. Take that bow.

Fine Daff Day Collection

A frightfully brief note from Marie Walsh tells us that the final amount from the historically, woefully, rain sodden Daffodil Day Collection is €6,256.

This is a fantastic total from the locality as the day is on record as being the worst of the bad weather we're now in hope of putting behind us.

Tea day to remember

Liz Galwey will host a Tea Day on Thursday May 9th at Galwey Auctioneers in Church Street for the annual 'A Day to remember' Alzheimers Tea Day.

"Please call anytime from 9.30am to 4.30pm, your support would be welcome," Liz assured.
