The young and the old are coming together in a spirit of shared culture under a new programme already meeting great success at the Kerry Writers' Museum.
The Together Project is a collaborative arts-based project run by Kerry Writers' Museum and Fighting Words Kerry. It links young and older people in the community through 'a creative programme of storytelling, creative writing, traditional music and song, and film-making workshops.'
Local talents working in a wide range of forms, from writers and artists to musicians and film-makers, are now helping to deliver the exciting workshops taking place under the project. They will also oversee the production of a number of pieces participants are to create.
Kerry Writers' Museum manager Cara Trant said its mission was to help people connect with their culture.
"The aim of the project is to share stories and create a performance-based programme to connect the young and old in our local community with their history, local environment, literary and cultural heritage, the spoken and written word and with each other," Cara said. "It will encourage the community to study and appreciate the spoken and written word".
