Wetlands start for Kerry's Operation Transformation
Christmas is over, the sweets are gone and the pants are a little tighter - which means that there is no better time than the present for us to get up and get walking. Thankfully, though, the 'Kerry Operation Transformation Walk' is just around the corner.
Taking place on the morning of Saturday, January 13, at 11am from the Tralee Bay Wetlands, this is a great opportunity for you to lace up your shoes, don the rain jacket and get up and get walking.
This year the walk will be based at the Tralee Bay Wetlands Centre and follows an 8-kilometre route along the old tow path of the canal and will be suitable for people of all ages and abilities.
"Hundreds of Kerry walkers are expected to get involved in what has always been regarded as a fantastic day out. Walking is a great opportunity to get active and this is the first chance to join with the five leaders in their goal of getting fitter and healthier," said Córa Carrigg, co-ordinator with Kerry Recreation and Sports Partnership.
"Registration opens at 10.30am at the Tralee Bay Wetlands Centre. Please arrive early to give yourself plenty of time to register, and then enjoy a hot cuppa while you wait for the walk to begin," said Córa.
Make sure that you don't miss out on this great mornings exercise.
