Sive Rowing Club will have their fingers crossed that the fine weather of this weekend holds up for their annual cycle the 'Tour of South Kerry' which takes place this Sunday, May 13.

With three distances, 50k, 70k and 105k, to choose from, the Tour of South Kerry is an ideal training event for all cyclists and with stunning views around South Kerry, taking in Dromid, Ballinskelligs, The Glen and Valentia, it is a guaranteed great day out.

The annual cycle is in its third year and it is also a special event in the local community with a special wreath laid at the grave of Mick 'The Ironman' Murphy - South Kerry's most famous cyclist.

Registration will be at Sive Boathouse from 9am that morning and the cycle will get underway at 10am.

This is a fundraiser for Sive Rowing Club and refreshments will be served afterwards at the boathouse.

Later that evening, at 8pm, there will be a gathering of sportspeople at Keating's Corner House Bar for conversation, craic agus ceol.
