Venues across the county came alive to the energy of young people searching the deepest recesses of their brains for answers to the challenging questions in Kerry's annual Credit Union quizzes.

From Causeway to Tralee, Dingle to Killarney youngsters were put to the test - and they came up trumps in no uncertain fashion!

While only the few could win outright, all impressed their quiz masters no end with the depth of their knowledge in so many fields, in both the under-11 and under-13 categories of the quizzes.

The Noreen Lynch Cara Credit Union quiz took place in the Brandon on Sunday, with 48 teams from 26 different primary schools competing.

The theme for this year was 'The Power of Four' - to encourage children and teams of four to work together and see what they can accomplish.

Primary students from ten schools in the common bond of Clanmaurice Credit Union put their knowledge and skills to the test in the Sports Hall of Causeway Comprehensive School on Sunday.

"This is the 28th year of the quiz, and it continues to provide a fantastic opportunity to nurture a culture of partnership among students," Clanmaurice Credit Union vice-chairman John O'Regan said.

Killarney Credit Union marketing officer Karena McCarthy said they were delighted with the response to the quiz held in the INEC, attracting a field of 79 teams, drawn from primary schools spread all over South Kerry.
