Landmark Waterville hotel priced at €150k

THE site of the former Waterville Beach Hotel has been put on the market for €150,000. Located two miles from Waterville village, the 110-acre site houses the derelict hotel as well as an abandoned farmhouse.

The property is situated in a prime location, according to selling agent Tom Spillane.

"The site boasts extensive road frontage onto Reenroe Beach and outstanding views of the Atlantic coastline," he said of the plot, which is located across the Inny River from the Waterville Golf Hotel.

The dilapidated hotel was a popular venue for locals and tourists alike in the early 1970s up until its closure twenty years ago. Planning permission has been granted for a 120-bedroom hotel, spa and leisure centre on the site, which also contains the rundown two-storey farmhouse. "The farmhouse has potential for someone going forward for planning permission," said Mr Spillane, who added the standout feature of the site is the stunning scenery. He commented: "Both properties enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding countryside."
