The tunes were flying at the INEC last weekend as hundreds descended on Killarney to enjoy the annual 'Gathering' festival.

Now into its 20th year, there were no signs of festival fatigue among the crowds and musicians as a full schedule of sell out concerts, set dancing, instrument workshops, céilís and lectures ensured that the weekend flew by.

Musicians performing over the weekend included the talents of Frankie Gavin, Dermot Bryne and Paddy Keenan, while 'Altan and the Sliabh Luachra' feauring Paudie O'Connor and Niamh Ní Charra were among those performing too.

A highlight of the festival each year too is the Traditional Gathering Festival Schools Outreach Programme; this year's Outreach Programme saw the festival brought to schools such as Gaelscoil Faithleann, St Olivers, Ballycasheen and Presentation Monastry.

"We look forward to turning 21 in 2020!" said festival organisers.
