Two West Kerry design businesses have been shortlisted for this year's 'Irish Made' awards.

Holden's Leathergoods and Fiadh Designs have been shortlisted in the accessories and textiles categories respectively. The much sought after awards are run by Irish Country Magazine and the winners will receive exposure at a national and international level for their work.

Speaking to The Kerryman weaver Fiadh Durham said "the standards set by these awards are something that I have strived for and being short listed makes it all worthwhile".

"To be short listed alongside Holden's Leathergoods is an honour," she added.

Fiadh faced an uncertain year with Covid-19 restrictions in place and few foreign visitors in Dingle, but she was pleasantly surprised at the response to her work from Irish 'staycation' visitors adding that the 'Made Local' campaign organised by the Design & Crafts Council helped a lot.

The 'Irish Made' award winners will be selected by public vote, which is open until September 30. Voting is on the website: https://irishcountrymagazine.ie/vote2020/
