Ciara's hard work rewarded with wedding award nomination
A talented Kerry based wedding photographer, who has been nominated as a finalist in the 'Irish Wedding Awards', says that she is honoured to be named alongside such "big hitters" in the industry.
Ciara O'Donnell, a Kildare woman by birth but now living in Ballyheigue with her husband, found out that she was nominated for an award in the 'Wedding Photography' category back in November and she's looking forward to attending the awards ceremony on January 28 in the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Dublin.
"To see your name up there amongst such other big hitters in the industry, it's just a great baramoter of how well you're doing, you know?" said Ciara, talking to The Kerryman on Thursday.
"It's [the nomination] a big boost to receive. When you work mainly on your own, it can be hard to know if what you're doing is good, so to receive this nomination, it's validating all the hard work that goes into the business," she continued.
The nomination is especially pleasing for Ciara after she revealed that, for her to be nominated, judges canvassed many of her previous clients - enquiring about what she was like to work with.
"It's special that these people thought so highly of my time spent working with them that they decided I was good enough to be nominated," she added with a laugh.
Of her chances in the awards, Ciara says she's travelling to Dublin with an open mind and whatever happens, happens.
