Bishop Leahy to deliver Diocese talk

Bishop of Limerick Brendan Leahy is to deliver this year's Diocese of Kerry Public Talk, setting out his vision of 'A Church of the Future'.

It's something of a homecoming for the Bishop, who though raised a 'Dub' is of west Kerry parents.

Bishop Leahy will deliver the talk on Wednesday next, January 9, at 8pm in the Gleneagle Hotel on Killarney's Muckross Road.

A prolific writer on religion and spirituality, Bishop Leahy has written on themes such as peace and forgiveness; faith questions; ecumenism; spirituality and much more. The talk is free and the Diocese of Kerry invite everyone interested to attend.

Bishop Leahy grew up in Dublin as the third of four children to west Kerry teachers Maurice and Treasa Leahy. It will mark something of a homecoming for the prelate as the Kingdom was a great presence in his childhood, spending so many summers back in his beloved ancestral home of Ballyferriter.
