Brilliant advice on how to nail the Christmas menu will abound at the Ballyroe Heights Hotel on Thursday, November 9, next as Ardfert National School host the third year of a fundraiser involving some of Tralee's top chefs.

Taste of Christmas - the now annual fundraiser for the Ardfert school - will see Ardfert NS parent Kevin O'Connor of Croí Restaurant in Tralee and fellow Croí talents, as well as the Tralee Culinary Gangsters outlining a brilliant Christmas menu.

Croí chef Noel Keane will MC the event with Marcus Eidner of Nick's in Killorglin preparing a venison starter. Croí chef James McCarthy will meanwhile cook a fish main, with Massimo from Once Upon a Cheese presenting some of his cheese creations and demonstrating the art of making Gnocchi. Kevin will then present some great ideas for creating appetising meals using the leftover turkey.

Peter Curran of Ardfert's Well Bred Butcher will be on hand to talk about making the most of the seasonal off-cuts of meat also. The whole evening kicks off with a mulled wine and mince pie reception in an added bonus. Doors open at 7pm.
