Ideal conditions for ploughing

Organisers pay a big thank you to sponsors for helping keep event going

Conditions were described as "ideal" by organisers of the Ardfert Ploughing match which took place on Dominick Flaherty's land in Ardfert on Sunday afternoon.

The news was all positive and there was no issues to report from the day as Brendan Blackwell, spokesman for the day, paid a big thanks to all the local businesses who help ensure that days like this can continue.

"It was ideal conditions there and there was a fine dry sod so we can have no complaints at all. Everything was perfect. It was a great day," said Brendan, speaking to The Kerryman.

"All of the local crowd who always support us were in attendance. Everyone seemed to enjoy it. All the sponsorship from the local businesses is very much appreciated. They help to keep the show on the road. You wouldn’t get far at all without the support of local sponsors,” he continued

- Senior Horse Class: Moss Trant

- Macra: Richard O’Mahony

- Youth: Daniel Burke

- U28 Class: Michael J Donegan

- Senior Tractor Class: Tie between Philip Healy and Derek O’Driscoll

- Reversible: Michael O’Halloran

- Three Furrow: Colm Dineen.
