Well known Tralee actor Tim Murphy has added to his already impressive CV with another major TV role. Last week saw the Tralee man join the cast of smash hit HBO science fiction drama Westworld.

The series - set in a futuristic theme park in the midst of a violent robot rebellion - is one of HBO's biggest hits to date and critics say it has the potential to be the next Game of Thrones. Murphy made his debut in the sixth episode of the current series which aired last week.

The Tralee man has played a significant role in several scenes with rising Hollywood star Tessa Thompson, who has shot to fame thanks to her role in the Marvel superhero movies. He was due to play a part in at least one more episode of the hit show though given the secrecy that surrounds the series it is entirely possible he could make many more appearances.

Murphy is no stranger to major TV dramas. He has already appeared in hit shows Sons of Anarchy and Criminal Minds as well as on series two of HBO's True Detective where he appeared opposite Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughan and Rachel McAdams.
