Renowned pianist celebrating 60th birthday in St John's gig
Celebrated pianist Hugh Tinney visits St John's on Wednesday next, November 28, as part of his '60th Birthday Party' tour.
The concert will encompass solo piano works by Schubert, Beethoven, Chopin, Thomas Adés and Ian Wilson, with doors opening at 7.40pm on the night.
Twice winner of the BBC Folk Award Daoirí Farrell hits the Listowel venue stage the following evening. Described as 'one of the most important traditional singers' in the last decade, it's not to be missed for folk and trad fans. That's on Thursday, November 29, with doors opening at 7.40pm.
It's off to the bog then in a show sure to rekindle lots of memories for audience memories as play the Turf takes the stage.
"One day, one man, one bog. Turf is a new play directed by Rowan Tolley which takes us on an emotional journey deep within the Irish soul when, as you cut, spread and foot, the turf takes hold of you," promotional literature for the production states.
The music in Turf is by Rowan Tolley.
It will take place on Friday, November 30, at St John's, with doors opening at 7.40pm.
