It's a school well known for its abundance of talent and now pupils will have the chance to show off their talents to a wider audience when they perform 'Big Maggie' on the Siamsa Tíre stage.

No strangers to the work of Listowel's John B Keane, this will be the third production of his that the school will have staged - with 'Sive' and 'The Field' having been performed in previous years.

The cast is made up of students from different year groups and they have been working hard at their roles since September to ensure maximum success on the night.

'Big Maggie' tells the story of Maggie Polpin is a widowed mother of four living in rural Ireland, now sole owner of the Polpin family shop and farm since the death of her husband.

Problems arise for the character when her vision of the future begins to sit with increasing discomfort on the shoulders of her surly offspring.

The play will be staged on January 24, January 25 and January 26; tickets are available to buy from the Siamsa Tíre website.
