Mountain Festival on the way to 'outdoor capital of Ireland'

We're less than a month out from the start of the Killarney Mountain Festival and excitement is starting to build for what is sure to be a fantastic weekend here in South Kerry.

The festival was officially launched last week with this years event set to be run in close association with the acclaimed Kendal Mountain Festival in the UK. Taking place from Friday March 8 to Sunday March 10 in the "outdoor capital of Ireland", for those of you out there who prefer the thrill of adventure to anything else, this is the weekend for you.

With last year's event having reached lofty heights of success, organisers and visitors alike will be hoping for more of the same again in 2019. This year's festival programme features a line-up of amazing guest speakers, world renowned adventurers, film screenings, family fun events, guided walks with Kerry Climbing, live music and challenges galore.  There are events throughout the weekend to suit all of the family, with the majority of these events being completely free of charge.

"Having had such a fantastic festival in 2018, we are really looking forward to this year's festival. It's clear that there's huge excitement and anticipation ahead of the weekend," said Killarney Mountain Festival Committee Chair, Maureen Hegarty.  Check out the Killarney Mountain Festival website for a full list of events over the weekend along with ticket information.
