Mall music proves a hit

Simon Brouder

As a thank you to the people of Tralee the team at the Rose Hotel brought some musical entertainment to the Mall on Saturday afternoon.

From 2pm to 4pm on Saturday a host of local musicians took to a mobile stage in the middle of The Mall performing a variety of tunes.

The event 'Summer Tunes on The Mall' was organised by the management at the Rose Hotel who said that they wanted to give something back to the community and thank the people of Tralee for all the support they have shown the hotel in recent years.

The musicians who took part in the event were all carefully selected by well known Tralee woman Renee Fitzgibbon who picked acts that would appeal to all tastes from traditional and contemporary artists to choirs singers and several classical musicians.

The event - on a gorgeous summer's day - brought tremendous atmosphere to The Mall and proved a big hit with everyone who stopped by to enjoy the entertainment.

Given the massive investment that has been made into the refurbishment of The Mall it's great to see the area put to such good use and hopefully we'll see many more similar events on Tralee's main shopping Street in the future.

Well done to all involved and on behalf of The Kerryman a big thank you to The Rose Hotel, Renee Fitzgibbon and all the organisers.
