Lottie blown away by Bressie encounter

TALK about getting the weekend off on the right foot.

It's not every day a Listowel schoolgirl gets to hit the road for home on a Friday evening only to meet star musician Bressie minutes later.

But that was little Lottie McCarthy's Friday in a nutshell when she caught up with The Voice of Ireland mentor on Friday at the Listowel Emmet's pitch.

"He was really nice and it was great to meet him!" Lottie told The Kerryman.

Bressie was in town during a stopover as part of the epic Cycle for Suicide event during the week. Gaelscoil Lios Tuathail fifth-class lass Lottie got to meet him as her father Mike was taking part in the Killarney to Limerick leg of the cycle.

"Mike phoned us from Tralee saying they would be stopping in Listowel which we weren't expecting at all," mom Jan explained. "He said they'd be stopping around 2.30pm so we had to run over from the Gaelscoil as Lottie was just finished school at that time, but we got to meet him. We obviously didn't want to bother him too much as it was a charity event, but it was Bressie after all!"
