Kingdom Comic Festival this weekend

The countdown to the Kingdom Comic Fest is on! This fundraiser event will take place Saturday October 5 in the Brandon Hotel in Tralee and in an additional twist to an already different event, the festival will help to raise funds for Limerick man, 22-year-old Leon O'Connor.

Leon is suffering from MS and appealing to the public to help him raise €70,000 so that he can travel to Russia to receive potentially life-changing stem cell therapy.

The day itself will have plenty of traditional comic-con style events from comic books, writers, artists, a VR experience, workshops and more, including Kerry native Anthony Riordan who will be performing his 'Game of Tones' show on the main stage to crowds on the Saturday.

Attendees of course have the option to come dressed as their favourite characters while all aspiring artists will have the chance to grab some inspiration through the form of visiting artists such as 'Spray Art By Joe' while another highlight will surely be the 'Super Smash Bros' tournament taking place on Saturday as well.

Tickets are €10 at the door so if you are in and around the area, pop on down for what will be a fun day out for a very worthy cause.
