Killarney artists are invited to get creative

ARTISTS living and working in the Killarney area are being invited this week to get their applications in for the 10th Anniversary Éamon Kelly Arts Bursary 2014.

The funding is designed to promote the development of the arts in the town.

It is sponsored by Killarney Arts and was introduced in 2005 in honour of the late great Éamon Kelly.

The Killarney actor and seanchaí Eamon Kelly is one of the town's best-known and best-loved artists and achieved a lifetime of success on the Abbey Theatre stage.

Applications for the 2014 bursary are welcome from artists involved in areas such as music and song, theatre, visual arts, writing, dance, sculpture and all art forms.

It is open to artists and arts students and applicants must reside in or be natives of the Killarney Postal Area.

The closing date for applicants is Friday, June 6 and application forms are available from Killarney Town Hall, by emailing or by phoning 064 6631023.
