Discover all the beauty of Derrynane in fun family weekend
One of the most beautiful places in all of Kerry, locals and tourists alike are now being invited this weekend to see all that Derrynane has to offer.
This Friday marks the start of the 'Discover Derrynane 2019 Weekend' and it is being billed as a great weekend full of informative, fun and most importantly free activities for visitors.
This is now the sixth year of the event which is hosted by the Office of Public Works (OPW) and they've gone all out for this year's schedule.
From walks, talks, workshops and exhibitions, there are a total of 50 events happening. Events include Bat Talks and Walks on Friday and Saturday nights followed by a guided Star Gazing Session, Kids Bush Craft sessions, a walk through the Derrynane Sub Tropical Paradise, a talk on the White Tailed Sea Eagle Reintroduction Programme and a brilliant sounding 'Dark Deeds' tour which will explore Cromwellian beheading, smuggling, massacres from recent times to the mythological past.
Finally, organisers say that a trip down to Derrynane would not be complete without stopping off at the beautiful and historic Derrynane house. The OPW will be offering free guided tours.
The weekend runs from Friday June 7 to Sunday June 9.
