Classics to spin out in style
Calling vintage cars of every size and variety for the annual Killarney Classic & Vintage Show which takes place at Killarney Racecourse on Sunday, July 23. This is the third year of an event that is gathering momentum year on year. It's also a major family day with lots of entertainment for children, while the racecourse facilities cater for the refreshments. As well as Kerry, car displayers will also make their way to Killarney from Cork, Tipperary and Clare.
James Looney and Gearoid Wren are the men who look after the vintage cars and they anticipate another top gear performance this year; a year that marks a very special birthday for the famous car manufacturer, Ford.
"It's a static car show that attracts upwards of 150 vehicles. The big emphasis this year is on Ford's 100th anniversary and we're looking for a good gathering of Ford vehicles through the ages. It's also a big family day with no shortage of entertainment for everyone," said James.
As a prelude, Killarney Classic & Vintage Club will also host a Treasure Hunt this Sunday (July 16) starting at 11am from The Innisfallen Hotel and all cars - vintage and modern - are welcome.
