Benner's parties like it's 1999

The Kerry Branch of Cystic Fibrosis Ireland got in the 90s spirit on Friday night as they hosted a 90s themed fundraising night at Benners Hotel in Tralee.

A large crowd attended the 90s Throw back disco which was an absolute treat for any one who came of age in "the greatest decade."

The event was organised by Karen Twamley whose son Harry has CF and on the night guests enjoyed back to back 90s classics ranging from Nirvana and the Cranberries to 2 Unlimited and Whigfield (remember her) with DJ Retro - Terence Crean to his friends - behind the decks while the visuals were provided courtesy of Aidan Kelly from IT Tralee.

While it wasn't mandatory by any means the organisers encouraged people to come along in their finest 90s gear and plenty obliged with a fine array of the "finest" 90s fashions - we spotted at least one floppy velvet hats and quite a few Adidas tops and tear off track suit pants - on display on the dance floor.

The organisers said they were delighted with how the night went and thanked everyone who came along and the many local businesses who supported the fundraiser.

All in all it made for a brilliant and highly entertaining night of nostalgia and we certainly hope that it makes a return in the next year to mark thirty years - shocking I know  - since the dawn of the 1990s.
