Art exhibition showcases students' fine work

AN arts exhibition featuring the works of primary and secondary school students will open in IT Tralee later this month.

The exhibition, 'Revelation –A Visual Exposition of Creativity & Innovation in Kerry School Communities', celebrates the work of teachers and their school communities in Kerry, with specific reference to the implementation of the Visual Arts Curriculum.

The Education Centre, Tralee, and a number of partners are coordinating the exposition and are inviting the public to experience the visual arts as interpreted by teachers and students in our schools.

"The standard of this work is immense and deserves to be seen,' stated Minister Jimmy Deenihan, who will be launch the exhibition in IT Tralee on Friday, March 22, at 2pm.

The exhibition will be available to view during the Easter period.

Widespread Support for this project has come, among others, from principals of primary and post-primary schools, teachers of art (PP), Kerry Education Service, Primary School Working Group, IT Tralee, The National Folk Theatre-Siamsa Tire, Kerry County Council, Kerry County Museum, and the Kerry Film Festival.

Artist Rebekah Wall has been appointed curator of the exposition.
