The Abbeydorney Vintage-Rally Club sure know how to put on a good show, proof of which was easily evident last weekend as a Vintage Run and Vintage Show treated machinery enthusiasts to a packed schedule of events with something for everyone.

Money raised from this year's shows go to Inspired, the local organisation that helps people with a disability to get back into the workplace. You won't find too many events with a spread of activities that takes in such choice with everything from a dog show, to tractor balancing, and car boot sales to children's activities.

A special rally car display was held in memory of Paudie Casey, while live music from Danny Goggin, Dreams of Freedom and Big Jim kept the crowds entertained.

The competition was friendly but fierce in the classes sections which complemented the brilliant turnout of cars, tractors, motorbikes and even a fire engine.

Some of the overall winners included Jason Clifford for the Most Original Tractor; the Best Overall Tractor prize went to Dan Murphy; The Paudie Casey Remembrance Run Perpetual Trophy went to Mick Heffernan for his 1979 Ford Escort Mk2; the Car of the Show honour was Michael O'Leary's for his 1965 Humber Spetre, while Best Original Car went to Robert O'Riordan's 1984 Toyota Starlet Dx.
