A purrfect Summerfest with the Pussycat Dolls

IT'S gonna be a big one! In what is arguably the Summerfest's biggest scoop, the world famous Pussycat Dolls will headline the Killarney festival with a concert at the Fitzgerald Stadium on July 18.

The announcement is the first of any concerts and events to take place during the extravaganza which takes place between July 3-18 this year.

The five pop starlets, led by superstar Nicole Scherzinger along with Melody Thornton, Jessica Sutta, Ashley Roberts and Kimberly Wyatt, will take to the stage for the first time in Killarney as part of their Domination tour to perform their best selling hits 'Don't Cha', 'Stick Wit You' and 'When I Grow Up'!

The Pussycat Dolls achieved worldwide success with their debut album PCD in 2005 which sold six million copies worldwide and earned them a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Performance.

Their second album, Doll Domination, remained in the UK charts for 23 weeks and their fourth single from that album, the floor filler Jai Ho! (You are My Destiny), a track from the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack, remained in the UK top 10 singles charts for four weeks.

Commenting on the announcement of the concert, Patrick O'Donoghue, Managing Director of Killarney Summerfest said; "We are delighted to be bringing one of the world's biggest pop bands to perform at what has become the most eagerly anticipated event on the Killarney calendar. In addition to the Pussycat Dolls, we will be announcing exciting support acts over the coming weeks".
