27th Kerry Drama Festival line-up announced

THE 27th annual Kerry Drama Festival will take place at The Ivy Leaf Art Centre here in Castleisland from Friday, March 7 to Saturday, March 15, following the official opening by Arts Minister Jimmy Deenihan.

The event is held under the auspices of Amateur Drama Council of Ireland. The adjudicator for the festival is the Co. Down based, Jim Wolstencroft and the director for the week's is Jerome Stack of the host theatre.

The programme for the busy week is as follows:

Friday, March 7: The New Electric Ballroom by Enda Walsh. Corofin Dramatic Society.

Saturday, March 8: 13 Rue de L'Amour by Mawby Green and Ed Feilbert. Brideview Drama.

Sunday, March 9: No Romance by Nancy Harris. Skibbereen Theatre Society.

Monday, March 10: The Kings of the Kilburn High Road by Jimmy Murphy. Moyne Drama Group.

Tuesday, March 11: Curse of the Starving Class by Sam Shepard. Ballyduff Drama Group.

Wednesday, March 12: The Cavalcaders by Billy Roche. Doonbeg Drama Group.

Thursday, March 13: Einstein's Gift by Vern Theissen. Palace Players.

Friday, March 14: Blood Relations by Sharon Pollock. Insight Theatre.

Saturday 15th March: Done Deal by Mártán Ó Mongán. Dooega Drama Group.

Shows nightly at 8 p.m. Admission: Adults €10 with concession €8.
