Your PC mouse dirtier than loo

Offices are increasingly unhygienic as more workers eat lunch at their desk, making them more prone to illness, according to new research.

Tests showed the computer mouse was the filthiest part of a worker's desks, containing more than three times the levels of bacteria-related contamination than on the average toilet seat.

Computer keyboards were the second most unhygienic piece of office equipment, said Initial Washroom Hygiene, which carried out tests on more than 150 separate items in 40 different workstations in a number of offices.

Male workers were found to have dirtier workstations.

Young living 'at last second'

Lack of advanced leisure planning is creating a "last-second society" of young people, it is claimed.

As many as 60pc find it hard to plan for events too far ahead, the poll by ticket company StubHub found.

Of 16-34 year olds, 48pc of men and 27pc of women now fall into this "last second" category. Some have given up planning nights out in advance altogether, settling instead for planning to meet up and deciding what to do when they get there.

75 rescued from cable car

Helicopters were used to evacuate 75 passengers from a stalled cable car near glitzy ski resort St Moritz.

Rescue services in the Swiss resort said the gondola was stuck halfway up the mountain and it took about three hours to evacuate all passengers. No one was injured.

The gondola named Diavolezza -- or Little Devil in Italian -- rises to almost 10,000ft, giving access to a glacier ski resort.

Sheen in home town premiere

Hollywood actor Michael Sheen brought a bit of silver screen magic to his home town in Wales during the world premiere of his latest film.

The star arrived on the red carpet at a cinema in Port Talbot along with US movie star girlfriend Rachel McAdams to watch the first screening of The Gospel Of Us, his film version of religious epic The Passion.

But Sheen showed he had not forgotten his roots, arriving in a taxi from a local minicab firm.
