THE trial of a woman charged with stealing a mobile phone and cash in a 2007 robbery has been adjourned until the New Year.

Leon Dumbrell (32) from Emmett Road, Inchicore, is accused of stealing a pink Nokia mobile phone worth €175 as well as €42.50 in cash in Francis Street in March three years ago.

The trial was due to start yesterday in the Circuit Criminal Court.

A barrister for the DPP told Judge Patricia Ryan that there was a difficulty in serving a witness summons on someone who would give important identification evidence.

The judge was also told there was a difficulty with another witness in the case.

Ms Dumbrell, also known as Leonie, was in court for the brief hearing.

The judge was asked to put the case in for mention on January 18 next.
