Woman 'killed with stiletto'

Authorities say a woman struck her boyfriend in the head with a stiletto heel and killed him.

Richmond County sheriff's Captain Scott Peebles said that 46-year-old Thelma Carter of Augusta, Georgia, is charged with murder in the death of 58-year-old Robert F Higdon.

Authorities say they believe Higdon was killed sometime on Sunday evening after a dispute between the two inside their home. Peebles told the Augusta Chronicle that police recovered the body yesterday morning after Carter returned and notified them.

Twilight makers sue over leaks

The makers of the Twilight movies have sued two people they claim are responsible for leaking images of unfinished scenes from the series finale Breaking Dawn.

A lawsuit filed yesterday by Summit Entertainment in federal court in Los Angeles accuses Daiana and Hector Santia, who live in Argentina, of hacking into secure computers, stealing images and posting them on social networking sites.

The pair are accused of posting multiple images from Breaking Dawn online on March 31. Attempts to reach them were not immediately successful.

Suicide bomb blast kills three

A suicide car bomber blew up his vehicle outside a small residential hotel frequented by foreigners just after dawn, killing at least three guards in the latest of a rising number of violent attacks in northern Afghanistan.

After the attacker detonated his cache of explosives, two other militants stormed inside the hotel in Kunduz city and engaged police in a two-hour gun battle, said Mubobullah Sayedi, a provincial spokesman.

IT glitch stops presses in NZ

About 200,000 newspaper readers in four New Zealand cities have missed out on their morning papers after a computer glitch stopped the presses.

Allen Williams, chief executive of Fairfax Media, which publishes 11 New Zealand newspapers, says he was "bitterly disappointed" that readers in Wellington, Christchurch, Timaru and Invercargill did not get their Tuesday morning editions.
