Woman kicked shop worker in groin
Andrew Phelan
A YOUNG woman kicked a shop worker in the groin and injured another's hand in separate assaults when she was caught shoplifting, a court heard.
Dublin District Court heard Lyndsey Sheehy (20) had been put out of her family home for drug use and had been on a mixture of medication and methadone that made her violent.
Sheehy, with an address at Caretaker's Hostel, Back Lane, Dublin 8, pleaded guilty to three counts of assault, as well as theft, criminal damage and public order charges.
Judge Ann Watkin adjourned the case against her for the preparation of a probation report.
The judge asked what had got Sheehy on to drugs in the first place.
"Just hanging around town," the defendant replied.
