Irish rugby star Andrew Trimble has become a father for the first time.

The Ulster winger and his doctor wife Anna welcomed their baby son, Jack, into the world in June.

Andrew revealed to the Herald earlier this year that he and his wife of six years were expecting a baby together and now it seems the sports star is settling into his new role as a father.

While the Coleraine native never officially announced the happy news, Andrew recently tweeted a picture of a pram with a packet of nappies.

"Wee Jack thinks he's a rock star in his Mountain Buggy," he captioned the picture.

The 30-year-old will join his fellow rugby-star dads on the Irish team.

Gordon D'Arcy and Aoife Cogan (inset) also recently welcomed their first child, a baby girl called Soleil.

BABY

Andrew and Anna are known for keeping their personal life under wraps, but Andrew said earlier this year he couldn't wait to be a dad.

Baby Jack must have arrived earlier than expected as the Ulster star had revealed their baby was due on July 4 and said they were waiting until it was born to find out the sex of the baby.
