We're off to Wembley

May date for clash with England

TRAP'S boys are, finally, on their way to Wembley as the English FA today confirmed that they will host the Republic of Ireland in a friendly there next May.

An Ireland-England rematch has been repeatedly touted even since the abandoned game between the sides at Lansdowne Road in 1995, and after months of talks and negotiations, the FA this morning issued confirmation that Ireland will play at Wembley on Wednesday May 29 ahead of Ireland's World Cup qualifier at home to the Faroe Islands.

The Ireland game, as well as a home game against Brazil in February, form part of the 150th anniversary celebrations for the English FA.
