Well-heeled pupils celebrate in style

JUNIOR Cert celebrations went off without a hitch as students hit a number of venues across the city to celebrate their results.

Delighted teens were enjoying themselves at a number of venues, such as Old Wesley in Dublin's Donnybrook and The Village, holding special Junior Cert parties.

Parents were seen leaving their children at the venues, before collecting them at midnight.

And gardai had a quiet night, with no major incidents reported -- officers checked bags and chatted away to teens who were looking forward to a special night out.

Although only 15 or 16 years old, Junior Cert girls showed they were fashion-aware.

Most were sporting this season's shorts, teamed with vertiginous platform heels.

But heels are never a girl's best friend, no matter what age -- and most teens were opting to take them off and go barefoot at the end of a long night's dancing.
