Weather cheers up for Easter

EASTER Sunday will bring a small reprieve from the miserable weather, according to forecasters.

While temperatures are set to drop to freezing this week, they will improve at the weekend with mostly dry conditions, just in time for Easter egg hunts.

Met Eireann forecaster Jean Byrne told the Herald that temperatures could fall below zero at night over the next couple of days.

While temperatures will not be as high as last week's records of over 20C, they will reach up to 14C this weekend, a considerable improvement on tomorrow and Thursday.
