Walters will deliver from start: Glenn

GLENN WHELAN has faith in his club-mate Jonathan Walters being able to deliver for Ireland if he's handed a starting role against Spain in Gdansk tonight.

Walters is expected to come into the starting XI after an impressive contribution from the bench against Croatia last Sunday and also in the warm-up friendly against Hungary.

"If Jon comes in he will do really well, he's been brilliant coming on as a sub in the last few matches with Ireland and if the manager does go with him he'll do fine," says Whelan, who plays his club football with Walters at Stoke.
