ST VINCENT'S joined O'Toole's at the summit of the Dublin Adult Hurling League Division 1 following a narrow 1-12 to 2-8 win over Ballinteer St John's at Páirc Naomh Uinsionn last night.

The hosts were buoyed by the appearance of dual club player, Dublin footballer Diarmuid Connolly, who impressed throughout from centre-forward while there were strong defensive showings by Rory Pocock and Ciarán Harney.

Points from Tomás Connolly and Cian McBride in addition to Damien Russell's goal helped Vinnies to a 1-8 to 1-5 interval lead with Dublin under-21 of last year, Fionán Clabby, accounting for Ballinteer's goal.

The visitors drew level through Ciarán Walsh's 32nd minute goal but despite solid performances by Frank O'Donoghue and Ronan Collins, St Vincent's sealed the win through points from Eoin Drumgoole and the lively John Hetherton.

PAUL MANNION, a Dublin minor last year, scored eight points from play in Kilmacud Crokes' comprehensive 2-27 to 2-4 victory over St Anne's in AFL2.

DUBLIN - AHL1: St Vincent's 1-12 Ballinteer St John's 2-8. AFL2: Kilmacud Crokes (1) 2-27 St Anne's 2-4.
