Valencia boss wary of Rangers

Valencia coach Unai Emery refused to write off Rangers' Champions League hopes when the draw was made and he refuses to talk down their chances now.

The Spaniards were favourites to progress from Group C, along with Manchester United, when the campaign got under way.

However, they now face a strong challenge from Walter Smith's men for second spot, with the Scots heading into tonight's clash at the Mestalla a point ahead of their hosts.

He said: "I am not surprised by the challenge Rangers have mounted because I have seen them before and they are a great team and are playing really well.

"The whole team is a threat with their compact squad and we know that winning this game is very important.

"Maybe they will adopt a similar approach to the game two weeks ago but this will be a different game."
