Two accused over store raid

TWO people have appeared in court accused of making a false statement and impeding an investigation into a supermarket robbery in Dublin.

Theresa Sweeney (56) and Waymon Sweeney (32) are facing trial by judge and jury after the DPP ruled the matters were too serious for the District Court. Judge Michael Coghlan adjourned the matters to a date in December for the service of the book of evidence.

Theresa Sweeney, of Neagh Road in Terenure, is charged with knowingly making a false statement at Terenure Garda Station on May 17 last. Co-accused, Waymon Sweeney, of Glenview Park in Tallaght, is accused of impeding the prosecution or apprehension of a person believed to be guilty of an offence.

MAN FOR TRIAL ON DRUGS CHARGES

AN alleged drug dealer caught with cocaine and cannabis has been sent forward for trial.

Brian Kiely (28) of Ballygall Parade, Finglas, is alleged to have been found with more than €13,000 worth of drugs. He is facing trial by judge and jury after the DPP ruled the matters were too serious for the District Court.

A State solicitor said the book of evidence was ready and had been served on the accused.
