Tubs plans summer road trip to Graceland

RADIO struggler Ryan Tubridy is looking forward to taking a summer holiday after a tough period at RTE.

The Diary can reveal that the Late Late Show host will be getting in touch with his musical side over the coming months with a road trip to see Elvis Presley's home in Graceland.

Speaking at the 200th Anniversary of Clifden in the Westbury Hotel, dad-of-two Tubs divulged that he's been a closet Elvis fan for years and can't wait to visit the King's famous pad.

"I'm definitely going to try and get abroad for a little bit ... I'm a huge Elvis fan, an unlikely one I know, but I know all of his songs."

But the 38-year-old is keeping mum on revealing whether his travelling companion will be on/off girlfriend Aoibhinn Ni Shuilleabhain (27).

The pair were spotted by a Diary insider last month enjoying a romantic stroll along Dun Laoghaire's harbour pier -- but they are still keeping fans guessing as to whether they've rekindled the flame.

"A friend of mine and myself are thinking about doing it. We haven't finalised details yet, but it would be fantastic," Ryan said.

The personality will be jetting back and forth to the UK over the next few months, to cover for well-known anchor Chris Evans on his popular breakfast show on the Beeb.

He'll be stepping into studio for his first few days over the June bank holiday weekend.

"It's always moving up a notch, in terms of what it feels like. It's like learning to swim and getting into bigger pools all along."

And the beanpole broadcaster has divulged that he'd never rule out trying for a spot on telly across the water, all going well: "I'll rule nothing out. I'm going to wait and see how the radio thing settles down and then see what follows."
