Tomic sends Fish packing in China
TENNIS: Fifth seed Mardy Fish became the first big casualty at the Shanghai Masters when he lost to 49th-ranked Bernard Tomic, but fellow American Andy Roddick did make it into the third round in China.
World number nine Fish began well but crumpled to Australian Tomic 4-6 6-1 6-4.
Roddick beat Bulgaria's Grigor Dimitrov 7-6 7-5.
Frenchman Gilles Simon, seeded eighth, thrashed Spain's Albert Montanes 6-1 6-1, while Germany's Florian Mayer beat David Nalbandian 6-3 6-4.
Seventh seed Nicolas Almagro defeated Spanish compatriot Tommy Robredo 7-5 6-3 and Stanislas Wawrinka beat Donald Young 6-7 7-6 6-2.
Hatton confident Haye will fight on
BOXING: Ricky Hatton believes fellow British star David Haye may postpone his retirement to secure a shot at redemption against Vitali Klitschko.
Londoner Haye, who lost his unification clash with Vitali's brother Wladimir in July, has always insisted he would quit when he turns 31 tomorrow.
However, Hatton said: "I've a feeling in my water he might give it one last go."
Home runs push Tigers to victory
