Thursday night sees launch of New Look's new flagship store

- FASHIONISTAS will be out in force on Thursday night for the much anticipated opening of New Look's new flagship store in Jervis Street.

The event will take place from 6.30pm and guests can look forward to a 50pc VIP discount, champagne and canape reception and a preview of key trends for autumn and winter.

LA-based chain Forever 21 is also due to open its doors in the Jervis Street centre next week.

- ACTOR and TV presenter Michael Hayes was among the big names who joined a global campaign and shut down his social networks yesterday, in order to raise awareness of the challenges faced by people with autism.

The Communication Shutdown Campaign has brought together more than 40 autism charities and teams of celebrities worldwide to get people to boycott their social media networks for 24 hours.

In return for a €5 donation a charity app known as CHAPP was connected to the user's Facebook and Twitter accounts for the day, with a shutdown icon placed over their profile picture.

- BROWN Thomas Dublin was the first shop in the world to premiere the largest Hermes Kelly bag ever made this morning at a special event at their Grafton Street store.

The bag, which is 12ft in height, was unveiled by top model Sarah Morrissey to coincide with the opening of the store's unique gifting emporium, The Marvel Room.

The unique bag, called the Kellydoscope, will be situated on the ground floor at the store from November 3-14.

Customers can step inside the bag to watch one of three short films on the history of film star Grace Kelly, who helped the brand achieve fame.

- YUMMY mummy Miriam O'Callaghan is set to step out tomorrow to launch With Love From Me...To You, A Letter To My Sixteen-Year- old Self.

The book has been edited by John Galliano and is published in support of the Irish Youth Foundation. Miriam wrote the foreword and will turn on the style for the exclusive event, which takes place from 7pm at Eason's bookstore on O'Connell Street.
