the new rugby WAGs lining out behind our Boys in Green

By Caitlin McBride

Meet the new generation of Ireland's rugby WAGs.

Just like Amy, Jessica and Aoife before them, these strong, intelligent, beautiful women provide the much-needed support to our rugby heroes.

In spite of what the WAG title may suggest, all of these women are much more than a label and are professionals, businesswomen and students.

Jessica Redden and Rob Kearney managed to keep their relationship under wraps for more than a year - almost unheard of in Irish showbiz circles.

Rob previously dated Footballers' Wives star Susie Amy (33) for over three years and was happy to be snapped out and about.

But he hadn't been publicly linked with anyone until he was spotted with student Jessica at a number of intimate gigs in Dublin late last year.

Chemical Engineering student Laura Finnegan is Jordi Murphy's other half.

The pair are childhood sweethearts and recently rekindled their romance. They're both in their third year of their respective degrees.

Wedding bells will be in the air for Tommy Bowe and his fiancee Lucy Whitehouse later this year.

Former Miss Wales Lucy met Tommy in a Cardiff nightclub while he was playing rugby for Ospreys in March 2011.

In the past, Tommy has compared their relationship to that of TV's Gavin and Stacey, as Lucy is from the town of Barry, just like the comedy's lead character.

The qualified nurse posted a photo of her huge engagement ring online after Tommy proposed in March and the two are expected to wed later this year.

Flanker Peter O'Mahony's girlfriend is a trainee solici tor. Half-Belgian Jessica Moloney has been dating the rugby player for nearly five years.

Robbie Henshaw has been seeing Sophie Marron for almost two years. The pair have managed to avoid the publicity glare but made their red carpet debut at last year's Pride of Ireland Awards.

Jack McGrath may be Ireland's brawn but his other half Sinead Corcoran brings both beauty and brains to the relationship.

Sinead is a radiographer and has a degree in Diagnostic Radiography from St George's, University of London.

The girls are regularly on the sideline cheering on their partners and will no doubt be a tour de force throughout the Six Nations Championship.
