The dangers of cocktail mixes
RECREATIONAL drug users are buying unknown, dangerous substances mixed with illegal chemicals online, the HSE has warned.
A popular party drug is a combination of ecstasy mixed with BZP, a recreational drug with euphoric, stimulant properties.
BZP is promoted as a 'safe, herbal drug' but when tested on cattle, it caused the animals to have fits.
A mixture of ecstasy and the drug PMA, which is known as 'cherry bombs' or 'pink ecstasy', has also grown in popularity.
PMA is often passed off as ecstasy because it is similar in appearance, cost and effect -- but it is more dangerous.
