Irish-owned light bulb company Solus has extended its supplier agreement with Tesco.

The move will see Tesco's Irish stores nationwide offer an extended range of Solus' new energy efficient bulbs.

One Solus bulb is sold every six seconds on average in Ireland.

"Our feedback shows that Tesco customers know and love the Solus brand and are enjoying our new energy efficient products," Solus sales manager David Reynolds said.

"We look forward to working with all the team at Tesco and to celebrating our 50-year partnership with Tesco in 2016."

Solus supports 63 jobs in Ireland and exports to the UK, Italy, Germany and Spain. It has been operating for over eighty years.

Tesco Ireland category director Joe Manning said the announcement reflects the retailer's continuing work to build and maintain relationships with its 400 Irish suppliers.
