Terry got off lightly claims Fergie
ALEX Ferguson has added fuel to the John Terry racism controversy by claiming that the former England captain is lucky to escape with a four-match ban.
Terry was found guilty of bringing the game into disrepute by the English FA and fined £220,000 following his verbal clash with Anton Ferdinand.
“There is a danger of it resurrecting itself because it has been going on so long,” said the Manchester United manager.
“But the fact he got a four-game ban, he may consider that is quite lenient considering Luis Suarez got eight,” he said. “It is time to move on and so should the game.”
Ferguson doubts that Rio Ferdinand will benefit from Terry's problems and find a way back into the England squad.
“It's entirely up to Rio. I wouldn't think he'll get called up. I think Roy Hodgson made his decision for the Euros and I can't see him changing that.
“It would be difficult for him to go to Rio and welcome him back,” said Ferguson.
