IRELAND'S hottest new pop band Kodaline are launching an exclusive deal between telecoms giant Vodafone and music streaming website Spotify.

The deal will see Vodafone customers allowed access to the site's 20million songs.

The communications giant has announced a €1.5m Christmas marketing campaign for the deal, which is due to kick-off today.

Following the agreement between the two companies, customers of Vodafone will get a free three month Spotify premium membership with every smartphone.

The deal has been added to pay as you go plans and to new and existing bill-pay customers from today and until Christmas.

Meanwhile, commuters in Dublin, Cork and Galway will be able to add a festive note to their journeys.

Vodafone have put technology in place to allow commuters to plug their headphones into special ads at selected bus stops to enjoy a musical interlude.
