Teen boy (17) killed in collision with bus
Flowers and candles left at the scene
A community was in mourning last night following the tragic death of a teenage boy in a road traffic accident.
The 17-year-old died after his bicycle collided with a mini-bus in Co Meath. He was travelling on the Golf Links Road, Bettystown at approximately 5pm when the incident occurred.
It's understood he was a fifth year student in a local school. His former GAA club, St Colmcilles, last night paid tribute to the tragic teen. The bus driver, a man in his mid-fifties, was uninjured in the incident.
Sad
Local Sinn Fein councillor Eimear Ferguson expressed her condolences to the family.
"It's very sad. I know that he was a fifth year student in Colaiste na hInse," she said.
She said news of the death had only begun spreading in the town last night.
A post mortem will be conducted in the coming days.
